Astra Arctic 1997

Just purchased an R reg Astra which seems to have high level of trim etc, as
it has air con and fogs etc etc. Have read about a deadlocking and alarm
mechanism on the car but sont have owners manual. When i push the little
button by interior light the led on hazrd switch flashes for about 20-30
seconds then goes off. How do i activate/ or get the damn thing to work-
also as it would probably answer many many many questions concerning this
vehicle is there anywhere on the net where i can download a copy of the
owners manual- so that i can familiarise myself with some of these buttons
and things? Its all a little confucing for someone who's always had classic
cars you see.

 

The button you are pressing turns off the interior alarm sensors. This is
to stop the alarm going off if you left a dog in the car and locked the
door. The alarm turns on automatically when you lock the door. If you turn
the key lock in the door so it is horizontal and remove the key then the
dead locks are on.

 

cool cheers 4 that although i been leaving the dog locked in there for ages
and the alarm hasnt been going off so i guess its broken- does anybody know
where i can download an owners handbook for the vehiocle???
