astra 1.7dti slug!

    my astra 1.7dti envoy est w reg 2000 is like a slug when pulling off like at
    a T junction you have to be very carefull!..someone said it could be a
    problem with the turbo? it drives OK like when the revs are up a bit, are
    there any known turbo probs and/or any adjustments that could be made? TIA
    for any help.

    You might have a large bore air pipe that has either split or become
    disconnected somewhere between the turbo, inter cooler or inlet manifold.

    and - - (he says adding to his own post)
    you might have a blocked exhaust. Had that with similar symptoms on my
    old Cav (same engine-ish)

    A guy I know replaced the MAF (mass air flow) sensor (it seems diesels do
    have them) and power was restored! It was a Y reg Astra 1.7dti, IIRC.

    Yep. Air Mass Sensor is defiantly a candidate. Just replaced one on my
    2.2DTi. Normal performance restored. I can get back to embarrassing Golf
    GTi's. Leaves them behind uphill and on fast 2nd gear exits from
    roundabouts. Good fun that, naughty but nice . . . . . . . .

    had same problem mass airflow sensor did the trick 2.0td
