Someone's snapped it! Tried to get replacement from Halfords, but, seemed
to be wrong type. Tried Vauxhall dealers, but, wrong connection. Then
found out what the trouble was. Previous owner had fitted non Vauxhall
aerial on, had joined new aerial to old aerial cable by cutting off
connector that screws into aerial mast and twisted wires together plus
insulating tape. Result, there is no screw connector on aerial lead which
is integral with wiring loom so cannot connect correct aerial to lead.
Vauxhall dealer said they don't do the connector by itself, it's integral
with lead. Now what do I do?

  2. You can replace also the wiring from the aerial to the CD or MP3 !!!
It is an easy thing to do

I know I could do a re-wiring job, but, that would once again mean using a
non standard aerial. I would prefer to use a Vauxhall aerial that fits
correctly into the hole that is already there. What I really need is the
correct connector that screws into the aerial. I suppose I'm just going
to have to wait until a correct model Vauxhall turns up in the local
scrappy and scavenge the connector and a piece of lead from that and then
use coaxial connectors to join it to my wiring loom. God knows how long a
    wait.

You'd think Vauxhall would be able to order those connectors for
accidental breakages. What do they do normally, replace the entire wiring
    loom!!!

the screw connector is not unique to the astra nor even to vauxhall so
the scrappy idea is better than you think or try a decent car audio shop
as they will probably sell an adaptor lead with screw one end and co-ax
    plug on the other!
