any ideas

    Sometimes if i've been driving quite fast i'll notice what i can only
    describe as an 'eggy' smell in the car, i do drive home past alot of farms
    etc but i don't think it's that, any ideas? (only happens now and then)
    P.S Vectra 1.8i LS 96

    Eggy smells normally come from the cat or the driver.

    The cat would normally be experienced at slow speeds while the driver's
    .........

  4. Second what's been said about an exhaust leak...but have you checked your
    cabin/pollen filter? Sometimes if those get gummed up they can begin to
    smell a bit - My V6 Omega used to stink with the heaters on, I pulled the
    filter and it was solid black!

    Sounds like it's dumping fuel. Are there any noticeable running problems, or
    excessive fuel useage?

    Are you sure you haven't just been scaring yourself a little too much for
    comfort? Try driving slower... :)

    Other than that:

    1. Something in the heat/vent system.
    2. Something dead in the engine compartment (When did you last see next
    door's cat?).
    3. Damp in the furnishings.
    4. The catalytic converter can give off an 'eggy' smell. I believe this is
    'normal' under certain conditions but could be worth you getting the fuel
    system checked out. Changing petrol brands can sometimes help.
