I have a red 86(D) Cavalier Estate 1600 L which I'm thinking of selling. Two
owners, got about 153k on clock, regularly serviced for at least the last 10
years (as long as I've had it), just passed its MOT about a month ago. On
original engine and box, had a new clutch at about 105k. Still runs sweet,
    but has a few faults.

    - Drivers door lock; automatically locks itself, so you need the key to get
    in every time.
    - Warm start problem; starts just fine when cold, but not so happy warm.
It -will- start, but just likes to take its time and stutter for a few
    seconds.

Bodywork will receive attention before sale to sort out the back wheel
arches and rust around the rear window. New (2nd hand) bonnet and front
grille will be fitted. Interior is pretty good for a 17 year old car - I
    don't smoke so it's clean.

It's been a great car for me, very reliable, and it's had a lot of TLC over
the years, but time to move on. I don't just want to put it in the local
paper and have it wind up in a banger race, or be thrashed by the local
yobs, so trying to find out if there's anyone out there who will give it
some TLC to make it last many more years.

    Regards,
    Dave

    Red.
Not sure how much. As I said in the original post, I'm only -thinking- of
selling it. I know it's really not worth hundreds, but they do appear in the
local paper for around the £150 mark from time to time.

Dammit... That sounded just like what I need to swap my Pug 405 estate (with
gearbox issues) for. Unfortunately I live in Manchester.

Ah well at least others who look in here get all the details without
    bothering you next time.
