    Hi
Anybody know of a product or company that can
polish out those fine scratches that you get after a couple of years?
Their not deep enough to fail MOT but annoying in the sun,
have tried Autoglym Car Glass Polish but I think I need something
    a bit more aggressive!
    cheers

when i enquired about this some years ago it was either a hell of a lot of
effort to do it yourself or expensive to have it done.
best bet is a brick and an insurance claim :)

I had a similar issue on my old Audi coupe with very fine stonechips and
scratches. I asked the windscreen company that my insurance company used,
and they said there was no need for it to become 'broken' - the fact that I
was having trouble seeing clearly through it after dark and in the rain was
enough for the insurance company to accept a replacement.

So no need for the brick. To me, it was worth the £40 excess to have a new
screen every eighteen months or so.....

  4. I am very annoyed over this, because it could have been
avoided had the Vauxhall designers used the their brains.

Windscreens get scratched because the wipers operate a good
1.5 - 2.0 seconds before the water sprays from the washer
    jets.

I suspect this was deliberately designed into the car to
speed up wiper blade wear, which increase windscreen scratching.

    Hi,

I've got the same problem with my Vecta which is about 18 months old. If you
do find a solution (and I've tried) could you please let me know.

    Thanks

    Jules.

    Sure will!
I've thought about jewellers rouge but how best to apply it?

Jewellers Rouge is a fine paste and is applied like T-cut. Best to use a
small electric polisher and test in a small out of view - out of direct
vision of the driver - otherwise you will be doing the whole screen to match
the test piece. It takes a lot of polishing but the results are worth it.
