Anyone got advice on replacing the rear brake shoes as in anything I may not
have thought of that is quirky to the Vectra?

Not done this for a few years so am not sure if any special tools are
required Vauxhall quote just under £100 to replace them.

    Thanks

Think you mean rear brake pads. You need a tool to wind the pistons back as
they don't just push back cos the handbrake mechanism is part of the rear
    callipers.

Is there not a rachet and pawl mechanism that you just release and move back
    with a screwdriver?

That is my recollection from a few years back. Just my thoughts.

The piston screws back into the calliper.
